Light of Resurrection

Reformed Church

We are an intentionally Confessional congregation in the German Reformed tradition, following the Three Forms of Unity and worshiping as the church of Jesus Christ in Spirit and Truth. Come and worship with us!

We are excited to share that Living Faith Baptist Church in Fombell is graciously sharing some extra space with us as cooler temperatures approach. We are grateful for the 19 weeks we spent on the farm in Lawrence County but also looking forward to a new season of ministry as we worship next door to our friends at Living Faith.

Come join us for worship. The address is 1718 PA Route 588, Fombell, PA 16123. If you pull into the church’s parking lot, please go around the church and park in the lot on the upper level. Then walk across the gravel path to the house. Signs will be posted to help you find our new place of worship.

We will also have a new time for worship and will begin at 10:45 AM

TOPIX meets Sunday Evenings at the same location. This is a Bible Study where we talk about and discuss any questions on the Bible, theology, and life that might have come up during the week, applying the standard of Scriptrue to all our ideas. We’d love to have you join us there as well.

Please follow us online at SermonAudio.com and type in broadcaster number 13028.

Our Beliefs

We are both Confessional and Reformed in our beliefs. We hold unapologetically to the Three Forms of Unity (The Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dordt).

We hold that the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired Word of God and thus are both infallable and inerrant in the original manuscripts. The Scriptures are our only rule for faith and practice.

We hold that Sunday worship is primarily a gathering of the Saints in the classroom of Christ to worship and be trained in the Scriptures. We also hold that worship is about families and as such, children of all ages are encouraged to participate in all aspects of worship. Finally, it is our practice to sing psalms, not because there aren’t theologically accurate hymns to choose from, but because as we gather together to worship, we want to sing God’s Word back to him.

Come join us for Worship on Sunday morning and if you have questions, please plan to hang around afterwards to talk and visit.

How You Can Get Involved

Attend Worship

Corporate worship on Sunday mornings is the single-most important thing we do together as a church. Here we learn together, sing together, pray together, and grow in our faith together as one body. If you want to get to know us, come worship with us.

Become a Member

Membership is about you making a covenant with God and a local church which identifies you as part of a local body of Christ. To be a member at Light of Resurrection, one must first be a professing Christian whose faith can be seen in their life and second, one must affirm the Three Forms of Unity as a summary of the doctrine of Scripture. That usually means there is some teaching that must take place to get you to the point where you understand and can affirm these three confessions, but take your time, we are more interested in your sanctity than in numbers on our rolls. Finally, one must be ready to covenant together with the rest of this church body for mutual edification and spiritual growth.

Support our Work

In a fallen world there are unfortunately costs associated with doing the work of ministry. At the same time, that gives you an opportunity to partner with the work we do locally as a congregation, and missionally as Pastor Win continues to teach seminary classes to pastors in Ukraine as part of Reformed International Theological Education (RITE) ministries. We are also currently a church without a permanent home; your partnership can help us make our permanent home a reality.

For More Information

We hope that we have answered some of your questions in this space but we expect that there are more yet to be answered. Consider browsing the articles on this site or dropping Pastor Win a note and we will get back to you as soon as he is able. Or, come join us for a visit in person, there is always time for discussion or questions after the service.
